NRLA Webinar | Reopening of the courts and possession - ask the expert with David Smith

Join the NRLA’s legal counsel, David Smith, for a rundown of what landlords need to know ahead of the courts reopening for possession cases on 24th August, how to reactivate any existing possession claims and how to avoid your case being adjourned. The session is hosted by John Stewart, the NRLA’s Deputy Director of Policy and Research.

Courts will be hearing possession cases for the first time in five months. There will be a number of changes to the process, intended to manage the backlog of cases and ensure the most urgent claims are prioritised. Where landlords do not engage appropriately, cases will be adjourned, which would further delay possession and increase costs significantly. The NRLA has been working with the judiciary and the UK Government on the new procedures and has developed guidance and resources for landlords.
