Cookie Policy

Introduction

Like many websites, the NRLA website at www.nrla.org.uk (the “Website”) makes use of cookies. A cookie is a text-only string of information that is stored on your computer for a time via your web browser so that the Website can remember who you are. Cookies cannot be used by themselves to identify you personally. A cookie will typically contain the name of the domain from which the cookie has come, the ‘lifetime’ of the cookie, and a value, usually a randomly generated unique number.

The NRLA uses three types of cookies on its Website:

  1. Session cookies - temporary cookies that remain in the cookies file of your browser until you leave the Website; for example, if you have something in a shopping cart it will stay in the cart until you leave the site.
  2. Persistent cookies - remain in the cookies file of your browser for longer than just one visit to a website (dependent of the lifetime of the specific cookie). These cookies are used to store information between visits to a site; for example, login details.
  3. Third-party cookies – these are cookies set by a website other than the one you are currently browsing. An example would be a website that creates a third-party cookie to monitor and track which websites you visit in order to tailor ads around your interests. It is only the website that sets the cookie that can interpret it. Third parties, including Meta, may use cookies, web beacons and other storage technologies to collect or receive information from your websites and elsewhere on the Internet and use that information to provide measurement services, target and deliver ads.

Third party websites to which you may be redirected by whatever means from the NRLA Website may also use cookies and details of these should be listed on their sites.

The NRLA uses cookies to help it understand more about how the Website is used and to provide you with a more personalised web service. These are as follows with links to give you more information:
