My council has written to me almost a month ago cancelling a tenancy in line with a letter I wrote to them about it in October.

I told them the tenancy was ending on 31st Dec and payments should continue until then, they wrote on 3rd December cancelling the tenancy saying it ends on Dec 31st.

However in box below they state the tenant is not entitled to Housing Benefit and that no further payment will be made , however they are rehousing him in council sheltered housing from 19th Jan.

I have not realized they had actually cancelled this until scheduled payment date has passed ,

They offer an appeals and or explanation there is also possibly an issue about whether he has actually been living there he has been in and out of hospital.

please advise
