Good afternoon,

I was issued with a Landlord License by Croydon Council in October 2015. My Letting / Managing agent asked me if I would like them to complete the forms for them for a small fee of £40.00 , unbeknown to be the Letting agent put the licence in her name, so when we parted company in July 2018, ( she undervalued my property, a new agent was able to get a higher rental income of £200.00 a month, for the same clients) I asked her for a copy of the license and I realised it was in her name. She told me it was still valid, as the licence covered the property , I rang up Croydon Council in June 2018, they said it was fine, but ideally it should have been in my name.

I have since been notified by the council that I do not have a license, and may have to pay again, the original license was discounted at £450.00, the new license is now £750.00, do I have a claim against my former Letting Agent.
