A while ago I posted the same question on this forum "Is Making Tax Digital (quarterly returns to HMRC) still on course to go live wef Apr 2021" and only had a couple of comments but no definitive answer. I can see a couple of other members have also raised this issue but the posts' has been locked as there has been no activity for 90 days.

Submitting the returns to HMRC will mean purchasing HMRC compatible software. There will be a learning curve for landlords, getting used to the new software and upload routines to HMRC's portal, so the Apr 2021 deadline is looming, hence I have resurected this topic.

I attended the NW webinar last night (video version should be available soon on this website) which was attended by a local tax specialist. "Making Tax Digital" was on the agenda and no mention was made of any HMRC delays to the Apr 2021 target date.

Does anyone have any solid information about MTD including suggestions for suitable software for landlords. I only have a small portfolio of houses so the software available through RLA is a bit overkill for me as it includes a full lettings management suite included as well as the accounting fuction.

Thank you.
