Agent giving wrong info re giving notice to tenant

Earlier this year I became suspicious that the agents had put an unsuitable tenant in my flat. They told me I could do nothing as there was an eviction ban. This was not really
exact was it? The notice period had been extended to 3 months so if I had got my notice in it might have been heard now ? This has caused havoc to my family and me
