Direct Line rent guarantee

I have a rent guarantee policy with Direct Line. There was an additional charge for adding this to my policy. I haven't had any arrears to claim for so and understand why they have suspended cover - but as they were only at risk for half of the year I would like half the premium refunded. They refuse. Anyone else in this situation?
