Rear access for fire safety

Hi,

I'm struggling with fire guides.

I have a 2 bed house that has 1 exit, the front door. Most houses have a back door. This one doesn't because long story, we aren't building external stairs, so the current back door is on the 1st floor and will be replaced by a big window.

From what I'm reading that's OK, it's just like having a flat.

Is this right?
