I read the regulations for the new Electricity Safety Inspection and wanted to clarify I understood correctly.

The enforcement to have ESI started for new tenancies from Summer 2020 (July I think it says) or from April 2021 for existing tenancies.

I have a tenanted property, the tenancy started 2 years ago. I had a periodic inspection report on the property back in August 2014. Given the new regulations can I wait until March/April 2021 to organise the ESI or should I get it done ASAP?

An electrician came today to do a small job to the property and seems to think that I am overdue since 2018 (as stated on a sticker on the electric board). What should I do to be compliant to the regulations and how much should I be looking to spend in London for a 2 bed flat?

Thank you for your help!
