HMRC is inviting landlords and the self employed to pilot Making Tax Digital - so I think I should get prepared. I currently use a spreadsheet to collate the accounts for my portfolio of 4 properties and my self employed income, then complete my self assessment return online.

Can anyone suggest a way forward to enable me to 'get digital' in the least painful (and expensive) way - and/or recommend suitable software to do the job?
