Can I draw attention to the current legislation going through parliament with regard to Fire Safety.

The Fire Safety Bill, which was put before parliament last March, is aimed at amending the 2005 Fire Safety Order and includes stronger rules to ensure building owners fix fire safety defects internally and externally.

There is an amendment, launched by MP for Stevenage Stephen McPartland and MP for Southampton and Itchen Royston Smith, which puts forward a change to the current legislation to ensure the costs of historic work will not be passed on to leaseholders.

It is being well received and backing numbers are growing, including some prominent MPs and ex ministers.

Please write to your MP and implore them to look at this "cladding" scandal that is forcing so much grief and financial strain on leaseholders.

The government must look at additional funding through different means and assistance to leaseholders.

I know a lot of members are suffering the worry or significant costs for repair. Hopefully the NRLA are lobbying also. Thank you.
