My tenant has requested permission to install a stair lift and to make substantial changes to a shower room, including moving and widening the door into the room itself. She has said that she could obtain a grant to get the work done. What are my legal obligations to allow this work to be done? Also, if I allow the work to be done, can I hold a balance in order to remove the stair lift and restore every room back to it's original state?
