Hi

I will be renting my first property purchased through a limited company. Is it correct to say that the Guarentor must sign the guarantee to the company not to us the Directors? Can I authorise estate agent to sign on my behalf.

What information should I ask from the guarentor, Is it acceptable to ask for ID and proof of income or proof of funds as the parent(guarentor) is providing a guarentee for the rent for their 2 grown up children a student and a furloughed worker. I am a little concerned as I have never rented out to students or those who are out of work due to concerns that they might not be able to pay. The agents references didn't come out as satisfactory as one is a student and doesn't earn and other is furloughed. Many Thanks for your advice
