Are landlords still required to have their property residential meet the 18th edition standard? I ask as I thought I had read in you magazine that the government have relaxed on this so long as the wiring is safe. I had last August a condition report done
And basically to meet this standard it is easier to rewire the property. Having the work done is scheduled for June due to the tenant having an operation and not wanting the disruption and to lockdowns again delay requested by the tenant. I have no problem having the work done but question if it is now necessary. It is a two bedroom staggered terrace house and the work will cost %C2£5,000.
Kind regards
Helen
