We have a very difficult tenant. There isnt any rent arrears but she wants us to be at her beck and call all the time. We could not manage and hence recently handed over management of the property to an estate agent. Yesterday I get an email from her (with the estate agent and council Environment Officer cc'ed in) saying she had to call the fire brigade as there was a small fire in the outside fence which was put out but the firemen noticed there were many cigarrette packets between the fence and it needs to be cleaned so it does not light up again. She wants the matter to be investigated by the police. I just want to know is it my responsibility for cleaning the cigarrette packets. I can get the fence repaired but dont think it is my responsibility to report this to the police nor clean the cigarrette packets as its outside the fence. Also since I have given the management reponsibility to the estate agent I dont have to get involved at all and get them to pick it up tomorrow when they are back to work. Any advise would be very much appreciated.
