Giving notice on a monthly periodic tenancy

I have tenants whose 6 month tenancy ended on 1 May 2021 and became a contractual monthly periodic tenancy. I want the property back ASAP to sell (or live in if we sell our own home first) as our circumstances have changed. The contractual notice is 1 month but do I need to give 4 months’ notice now under Covid rules? Is that from the 1st of the month so would that mean 31 October 2021 as a leave date. Do I serve a s21 notice in the ordinary way? Thanks.
