Tenant in situ - use current agent

I am in the process of buying a property with a tenant in situ. The owner uses a local estate agent to manage the property and the tenant has 6 months remaining on the 12 month contract. I intended to manage the property myself but wondered if it would be easier in regards to informing tenant and sorting out what needs to be done ( which I’m not sure of) to let the current agent continue to manage it until the end of the contract and then take it over myself. Any advice?
