Hi, I have a tenant, who at the start of the tenancy told me she was having trouble with her student loan, due to COVID and they were taking a long time to process it. This went on for several months, and then in February, she seemed to have access to money and paid a couple of catch up amounts.

However nothing else was forthcoming and when I spoke to her a couple of weeks ago, she said she had given up with the student loan and was now working. She has told me that she can pay the outstanding amount over the next 2 months.

I have asked her in the interim to send me a suggested payment profile of what she will pay and when, but am concerned, that this may not happen. Any thoughts on what I should do next ?

If she doesn't provide a plan by the end of the week, am wondering if I should go the small claims court, although, what I should do is what my query is really about.

Regards
G
