Utility arrears
I have rented flats to a commercial tenant for a fix rent of £1200.00 + £30.00 water charges. The rent is exclusive of rates and electric. The tenant rents out the flats as Air b&b. The tenant has not paid any water rates and now is in arrears. Can I deduct the water charges from his deposit? or can I issue additional invoice as rent for water charges. Thank you and hope to hear from you soon. Regards Ashraf
