Liverpool licensing scheme set to come into force on 1st April

A new selective licensing scheme will come into force across Liverpool next month.

From 1st April 2022, all privately rented homes across sixteen wards in the city must have a licence.

The full list of wards where privately rented properties will require a licence can be found online here.

How to apply

To apply for a licence, visit the Liverpool City Council’s webpages here. Landlords have until 30th June 2022 to qualify for the early-bird discount.

Liverpool City Council have confirmed that NRLA membership will entitle members impacted by the scheme to a discount on the licence.

In addition, members of the North West Property Association (NWPOA) also get a discount off the licence.

NRLA is affiliated with the NWPOA. To become an NWPOA member landlords have to join the NRLA and can do so here: https://www.nrla.org.uk/join/nwpoa.

Existing NRLA members would be entitled to the discount but can also call our membership team on 0300 131 6400 to have NWPOA linked to their existing NRLA account if they wish.
