Welsh landlord forums: New dates added

Sally Walmsley 28 July 2026

Landlords and property professionals with homes in Flintshire and Blaenau Gwent & Merthyr are invited to attend two local landlord forums next month.

Flintshire County Council Landlord Forum - Maintenance Special

Flintshire County Council will be hosting its first in-person meeting with a maintenance special, focussing on ensuring your rental homes are in great condition.

The session, on August 13, will focus on property maintenance, offering practical advice, updates, and the opportunity to discuss common maintenance challenges, legal responsibilities, and best practice with fellow landlords.

The meeting will be held at Care & Repair in Rowleys Drive in Shotton and will run from 6pm-7.30pm.

Our very own Gill Owens will be in attendance to give an update on new Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards, with Andy Bolton from Fire Safety Wales giving a talk on Fire Risk Assessments and general fire safety.

Dave Lewis from Care & Repair, which supports older renters experiencing fuel poverty, will also be presenting.

Blaenau Gwent & Merthyr Tydfil Landlord Forum

Landlords in south Wales are invited to the Blaenau Gwent & Merthyr Tydfil Landlord Forum on 19th August.

The event, which will be held at the Blaenau Gwent General Offices will run from 5pm to 7.30pm and is open to landlords, agents and other property professionals keen to keep up to date with all the latest news from the sector.

We will be on hand to give an update on legislation change, with law firm Fonseca Law Solicitors hosting a Q&A on the eviction process.

The local housing support team will be discussing rent incentives and the leasing scheme with the environmental health team talking about rules on asbestos, property standards and empty homes.

There will be a buffet and refreshments – along with ample networking opportunities offering you the chance to get to know other landlords.
