NRLA Living launches with new build to rent report
A new service offering top quality market insight for large portfolio landlords has been launched by the NRLA at an event in the capital.
We have partnered with real estate advisers Bidwells to launch NRLA Living to help large portfolio landlords, Build to Rent (BTR) operators, investors, funders and associated professional services companies plan and manage their portfolios more effectively.
The event also saw the launch of new joint research report, which has found the build to rent (BTR) sector has delivered an average of 61% of new homes across eight of the UK's leading regeneration areas in past decade. This despite accounting for under 2% of national housing stock.
NRLA Living will complement services for our core and growing membership, and reflects our commitment to the provision of homes of all tenures to address the country’s housing supply crisis.
The launch saw leading institutional leaders in the BTR market gather to debate the future of residential investment and operations in the sector, with keynote speaker and leading government adviser on housing reform Kunle Barker providing his perspective on the housing policy landscape.
Valuable contribution
Our chief executive Ben Beadle said: “We believe that Build to Rent makes – and can continue to make – a valuable contribution to the UK’s supply of housing, alongside traditional buy to let (BTL).
“These research findings demonstrate that housing delivery can only happen at scale if the Government takes steps to ensure investment is encouraged rather than stifled.
“Crucially we believe that a thriving BTR market must complement a growing BTL sector if the UK is ever going to meet its ambitious housing objectives. Without a bold vision which attaches an equal level of importance to both sectors, the Government will simply fail to solve the UK’s housing crisis.”
