Steph McGovern to present NRLA housing conference

Award winning business journalist, Steph McGovern, will host the NRLA’s annual UK Housing Conference this year, at what is a critical time for the private rented sector.

The co-host of ‘The Rest is Money’ podcast, with ITV political editor, Robert Peston, McGovern brings a wealth of experience on money and business issues, including time as a business presenter for BBC Breakfast and presenting the BBC’s flagship consumer affairs programme, Watchdog.

The 2025 conference is taking place on 5th November at Liverpool’s Exhibition Centre and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

It comes at an important time for the rental sector amidst major reforms in the Renters’ Rights Bill, plans for new energy efficiency standards and talk of further tax hikes.

The annual event, sponsored by Total Property, will give property professionals across the country cutting edge insights and advice on how to navigate the changes ahead and explore the future direction of the sector.

Delegates will also be able to access the latest advice on investment strategies and the services offered by the NRLA’s commercial partners and suppliers, covering everything from mortgage advice and insurance to effective property management.

NRLA chief executive Ben Beadle said: “Steph’s wealth of experience on business and finance issues will come to the fore at what will be a vital conference for the sector.

“Amidst a blizzard of changes, this year’s event will be essential for all those wanting to get ahead of the game and take advantage of the expert insights on offer.”

The NRLA’s annual conference is in its fourth year and has gone from strength to strength since the inaugural event in 2022. Former speakers have included then-Housing Secretary Michael Gove, former Dragon’s Den star James Caan CBE and Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham.
