MEES under the spotlight as we launch our next member survey

Sanjeev Shetty 16 June 2026

Our latest member survey launched at the weekend – asking for your opinion on everything from minimum energy efficiency standards (MEES) and the Renters' Rights Act to local authority licensing.

Our quarterly Landlord Eye surveys give you the opportunity to voice your opinions on a range of issues affecting you and your portfolio, with your responses  informing our campaigns work and policy positions.

With new Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) on the horizon, we want to find out about your awareness of green finance options, including specialist loans and grants that could help fund retrofitting work on your properties. We'll also be asking about plug-in solar panels, and whether they are something you would consider to improve your EPC rating.

Renters' Rights Act

With the first phase of the Act now in force, we want to find out more about your understanding of possession options and we’ll also be asking how the Act has affected your business decisions, including whether you have sold properties to other landlords or with tenants in situ.

We also want to know what communication, if any, you have received from your local authority about the practical implications of the Act.

Pegasus survey

Alongside our own policy-focused survey, our research partner Pegasus Insight will be undertaking its own regular deep dive into the financial health of the sector. This builds a picture of how landlord businesses are performing and how landlords see their business developing in the medium term.

Subscribers to research emails should have receives one of these surveys last Sunday, with the selection made at random. Check your emails to make sure you have recieved yours, and to submit your thoughts and experiences.

Have your say

All those who complete the surveys will be entered into one of two prize draws to win £250 of shopping vouchers - John Lewis vouchers for our survey and Amazon vouchers for the Pegasus research.

The draws will be made once both surveys have closed on 7th July.
