Tell us about your experience with botched insulation

Tens of thousands of homes funded under the Government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO) and the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) may be affected by poor-quality installations, leaving some households with damp, mould, and costly repairs. Despite the scale of the problem, progress on fixing these issues has been slow, and we want to hear directly from you. 

If you had insulation work funded by ECO4 or GBIS between April 2022 and January 2025, and the Government has contacted you about potential remediation, or if you have contacted Ofgem directly because you suspect the work was botched, we would like to hear about your experience.

We are particularly interested in understanding how the process has worked in practice, including how easy it was to get support, how quickly issues were addressed, and whether remediation has been effective.

Why does your experience matter?

Despite the scale of the problem, progress on remediation has been limited, and many households are still waiting for inspections and repairs. Martin McCluskey MP, Minister for Energy Consumers, has stated that the Government remains “committed to helping households who have not received the standard of service they deserve.” 

Your feedback and experience will help us understand how the remediation process is working locally. The evidence gathered will help strengthen our engagement with officials on this issue and support our advocacy for faster, more effective remediation for landlords affected by poor insulation work.
