Active consultations
Bolton Council - Additional Licensing
The council is currently consulting on plans to introduce a borough-wide additional licensing scheme. The proposed fee is £1,211 per licence.
The consultation closes on 19th April. In person drop-in sessions and virtual sessions for landlords are available. Further information about the proposals and how to provide feedback can be found on the council’s website or by emailing [email protected] or calling 0800 122 3918
Salford City Council - Additional Licensing
The council is currently consulting on proposals to renew its borough-wide additional licensing scheme. The proposed licence fee starts at £1,329.14, with discounts available for accreditation and early applications.

Schemes coming into force
London Borough of Hackney - Selective and Additional Licensing
The council has confirmed a borough-wide additional licensing scheme and a selective licensing scheme covering 17 wards will come into force 1st May.
The licence fee is £925 for selective licensing and £1,400 for additional licensing. Further information about the scheme can be found on the council’s website.
London Borough of Hillingdon - Additional Licensing
The council has confirmed following consultation that a borough-wide additional licensing scheme will come into force on 24th August this year, ending on 23 August 2031.
The council has excluded section 257 HMOs from the scheme, which are properties that:
- Have been converted into self-contained flats; and
- Have occupation levels of less than two thirds
- did not comply with the relevant Building Regulations in force at the time they were converted, nor no they currently comply
The licence fee is £1,401 per property, with a discount available for accreditation. The application process will begin from 20th May.
