What is Making Tax Digital (MTD) for landlords?

From 6 April 2026, most landlords earning over £50,000 a year from property and/or self-employment must follow new HMRC rules for how they keep financial records and send tax information.

This threshold will decrease quickly over the coming years, and the number of landlords required to comply with MTD will therefore increase year on year.

How secure is the Open Banking integration?

We work with MoneyHub, a regulated Open Banking provider. Open Banking is designed to be a very secure process, utilizing bank-level encryption and regulation by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK. You control which regulated third-party providers can access your data, and you can revoke permission at any time. Your bank login details are never shared, and you are protected by data protection laws.

Can I switch from Portfolio to PortfolioPlus later?

Yes, you can switch from Portfolio to PortfolioPlus at any time and keep all the data you have entered. All PortfolioPlus features can be used with data added via the Portfolio offering.

How does Rent Tracking Work?

Rent tracking works by firstly setting up a bank rule automation to auto categorise incoming rent payments for your tenancy. Once that is set up you can set up which alerts you would like sent, if rent matching the rule you set up has not been received. Rent alerts can be sent to you and/or your tenant(s).

What happens to my data if I cancel my NRLA membership?

Your data will be retained for 12 months and you can reactivate at any time to pick up where you left off. 12 months after your membership ends we will delete your data.
