The Big Question: Will you grow or reduce your portfolio over the next 12 months?
Are you planning to buy or sell in the next 12 months? Maybe you plan to keep your portfolio the same size for now - or maybe you're just not sure.
Whatever your plans we want to hear from you, for our regular Big Question feature for our members' magazine Property.
Each edition we ask you to share your thoughts on different aspects of lettings - and how you approach them - with a range of responses chosen for publication.
Ahead of our winter publication, we want to know about your plans for the year ahead, and what's driving them.
There's no denying that 2026 has been a difficult year for landlords and everyone in the private rented sector, and with changes to minimum energy efficiency standards on the way, we want to know whether legislation change is shaping your plans for the next 12 months.
There may be other factors at play, whether that's rising costs, requirements under Making Tax Digital, or long-term plans to grow or reduce the number of properties you own.
What's on the cards?
You might be feeling optimistic, with plans to grow your portfolio as other landlords sell, taking advantage of demand that shows little sign of slowing.
Or you might be taking a more cautious approach, holding steady while you wait to see how the latest legislation beds in.
Equally, you might be planning to reduce your portfolio, or sell up altogether.
If you have a mixed portfolio, your plans might differ from property to property, perhaps growing in some areas while stepping back in others, or focusing your investments in one part of the country. Whatever it is you are planning, we want to hear from you.
