Landlords needed to test new PRS Database
Landlords in England are being invited to take part in private beta phase testing to help shape the new PRS Database, being introduced under the Renters’ Rights Act.
Volunteers will be asked to register on the database and provide feedback on their experience.
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government’s (MHCLG) has confirmed that the database will not be implemented until later in the year, when it will be rolled out on a regional basis, and that any information entered during the beta phase will be deleted shortly afterwards.
When will the testing take place?
Testing will take place in stages over the coming months, beginning in mid-February/March. If you register your interest and do not hear from the PRS Database team immediately you may be contacted when the next testing phase begins. Some testing has already taken place, with landlords in Birmingham, Gateshead and Nottingham.
Am I eligible to take part?
The team is looking for:
- Individual landlords
- Joint landlords
- Overseas landlords; those that reside outside the UK but have properties in England
- Organisational landlords; such as companies, trusts and charities
- Landlords using letting agents solely to manage properties
- Landlords that require assistance when using digital services
- Landlords that cannot use digital services
