NRLA Training launches new nationally recognised qualification

8 April 2026

A new OFQUAL-recognised training course is being launched by our award-winning training academy.

We have now upgraded our Level 3 ‘Managing Property & Residential Lettings’ qualification to reflect changes coming in under the Renters’ Rights Act on 1st May.

The course, for landlords, lettings agents and property managers, will also allow those who have successfully completed it to apply for the use of post-nominal letters MNRLA (representing Member of the NRLA) after their names.

For those pursuing NRLA accreditation, which is widely recognised by local authorities and licensing bodies, the certificate provides 12 CPD points.

Remote learning

The course is completed remotely and will offer you:

  • A refined understanding of the key regulations which underpin the private rented sector;
  • A wider-ranging skillset including the latest on private rented sector (PRS) best practice
  • Greater awareness of the legal requirements impacting the rental market.

With the Renters’ Rights Act promising the most significant legislative upheaval in the sector for decades the new qualification will prepare property professionals thoroughly for the impact these changes will have on their businesses – as well as serving as a demonstrable sign of professionalism to renters.

The course includes 140 hours of self-study, to be carried out over up to 18 months, and is made up of five units:

  • Health, Safety and Security in Lettings.
  • Legal Concepts and Agency Responsibilities.
  • Lettings Practice and Compliance.
  • Legislative Obligations & Enforcement.
  • Ending Tenancies, Possession and Checkouts.

NRLA chief executive Ben Beadle said: “This new qualification will equip all manner of property professionals  with the tools to excel and provide a first-class experience for renters.

“With radical reforms a matter of weeks away, this qualification is for those who want to thrive and not just survive the Renters’ Rights Act.”
