The new EPC system: what’s changing and why it matters | Wednesday 4th November
With new energy efficiency rules bringing in a minimum EPC rating of C by 2030, we are running a member webinar taking a deep dive into the changes up ahead.
The webinar – The new EPC system: what’s changing and why it matters – will help you get to grips with proposed change to the way EPCs are calculated - and decide what your approach should be.
It is predicted around 2.5million homes will need improvements to meet the new standards, with landlords expected to pay up to £10,000 per property to bring them up to a C rating.
While you have until 2030 to hit this target, if you want to do so under the current system you only have until 1st October 2029.
After that you’ll need to have your properties assessed under the Home Energy Model (HEM). This uses different metrics to calculate your EPC rating, something you can read more about here.
The session will give you an introduction to the transition, exploring how the two systems compare, and will also cover the wider regulatory landscape and the practical steps you should consider now when it comes to getting ready.
The webinar will be held next Wednesday, 4th November between 11am and noon.

If you have any questions you would like to submit ahead of time please email them to [email protected] and we will do our best to address them during this session.
