I presented my case to the TDS after the tenant asked for dispute resolution. He ran a business from my property, the AST categorically states that is not permitted. He did not return furniture to it's original places, etc. etc. He got away with the whole thing. I'm getting out - no matter how much supporting evidence you provide that the tenant has not fulfilled their obligations with photos etc the Dispute Service finds a way to find in favour of the tenant. I've had to write to the Council to say that my private home is not a business property, etc. and find people to move furniture about. Also lots of stuff went missing despite being clearly marked on the in and out going inventory. Seven properties being sold as and when - does that solve the housing crisis. I don't think so. Also the new proposed CGT regulations are going to be draconian. The Government needs to raise money and guess who they are going to raise it from? See Peter Littlewood's Southern Landlords post asking people to respond. Please take the time to do it.
