We were taking our tenant to court following several thousand pounds worth of arrears, however she emailed to say she was moving out and after giving us 3 dates she eventually moved. We sent someone out to check the house and found the keys to the property in the house which was in a poor state of repairs, dirty and lots of her items left behind. We emailed her later to ask for a meeting to discuss the arrears, the fact the property was left unclean and the damage, as usual as an ex estate agent, she said that she had been to the house and it was locked up and that I had not given her proper notice, although she has not paid the rent for the month and owes a further £13000+ and she was the one that said she was moving. Did I have to send a letter of notice to quit?
