Webinar: EPCs and Renters' Rights a compliance risk you can't ignore
The next webinar in our new Energy Efficiency series, will examine how new changes to minimum standards will interact with the Renters' Rights Act.
Landlords in England and Wales will be required to meet EPC C – or register a valid exemption – to be able to continue renting out their properties from 2030.
For landlords in England this requirement is further complicated by new rules coming in under the Renters’ Rights Act, which will make it more challenging for landlords to obtain the vacant possession that may be required for major works.
The webinar will explore ways in which landlords can plan for large-scale retrofit works when they cannot anticipate when a tenant may leave, and what they should do if their property does not currently meet EPC C standards while it remains occupied.
As our policy and public affairs officer Mia Rotaru explains: "Landlords are facing a period of significant change, with both the Renters' Rights Act and new minimum energy efficiency standards (MEES) set to affect how they manage their properties. Understanding how these changes interact will be crucial, so landlords have the clarity they need to make informed decisions." ,
