Rent Controls would be a disaster for London renters
Proposals by the Mayor of London for rent controls in the capital would be a disaster for tenants. As Sadiq Khan once again seeks the powers to introduce them, the National Residential Landlords Association is pointing to a report published by The Treasury in 2010 under the last Labour Government, of which the Mayor was a member.
Notice periods extended in Wales but there will be some concessions
Landlords in Wales must give tenants six months notice by default of their intension to gain possession in most cases until 31st March 2021, Welsh Housing Minister Julie James announced today. The temporary extension to the notice period had been due to expire at the end of this month. However there are some concessions to the new notice period following extensive NRLA campaigning.
The evictions ban: Phil's story
