Don't get caught out by new and upcoming legislation. Ruth will tell you all you need to know and answer your questions. 

1.30pm  Cannabis Prevention and Grow Aware Scheme for Landlords

South Yorkshire Police 

Research shows that cannabis setups in Sheffield are primarily developed within the private rented sector. The police will discuss prevention and how their innovative Grow Aware Scheme can help and incentivise landlords to stop their properties from becoming targets.

Mahara Haque, My Landlord Cares

Mahara will discuss and share her tips on how landlords can support tenants in these tough times.

3.00pm  Developments To Help Landlords and Tenants  

Jess Senior, Private Rented Solutions, Sheffield City Council

Jess will discuss developments working to help landlords and tenants including launch of CallB4UServe.

3.20pm  Update to Snug Approved Student Housing Scheme Standards (SNUG)

Samantha Green, Team Manager, Private Housing Standards, Sheffield City Council

Samantha will talk about the recent review of the Snug Approved Student Housing Scheme standards, why it has been done and the main changes that have been implemented.

3.35pm HUG and Energy Efficiency Schemes

Ellen Grey, Project Officer, Strategic Housing Service, Sheffield City Council

Ellen will discuss the HUG scheme (supporting landlords with properties without gas heating to upgrade their heating system) and other energy efficiency schemes.

3.50pm  HMOs and Other Issues  

Catherine Hughes, Service Manager, Private Housing Standards, Sheffield City Council

Catherine will provide an update about the review on HMOs and other issues affecting housing.
