state of the market, difficulties experienced and business opportunities. Led by Steering Group Member and local letting agent - Ian Crampton

2. A briefing from the Council on how Private Landlords can access former Green Homes Grant Funding now allocated to local authorities to help meet new Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards that are being worked up by the Dept. of Business Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and likely to be announced later this year.

3. A quick revisit and part 2 of an explanation of the Council's structural economic and development plans for the Borough by John Pitcher, Policy and Engagement for
Managed Growth & Communities Directorate, which was not able to fully covered at the last forum.

Breathing space debt moratoriums

As of 4 May 2021, tenants in unsustainable debt can apply for a ‘breathing space debt moratorium'. While a breathing space is ongoing landlords cannot seek to recover the debt and must pause any enforcement activity relating to it, such as possession hearings or bailiff appointments.

Join James Wood to find out how a breathing space works, how landlords can comply with this new legislation, and what it means for landlords of tenants in arrears.

Following the recent Queen’s speech Ben Beadle, the CEO of the NRLA will be highlighting the impact on private landlords. He will also be sharing with us details of the work being undertaken by the NRLA to lobby the government and influence decisions being made that have an impact on the private landlord's sector.
