LHA Reclaim by Council
Housing Benefit Overpayment

Hi,
I have received a leter from the council stating that they will be making a weekly deduction from the LHA of a current tenant (We receive the LHA direct) due to an overpayment from a "previous period". If the "Previous period" turns out to be a period during which she was not our tenant is this a valid deduction? And what if she were our tenant at the time?
