Hi

Hoping somebody can help with this question...

A bit of background... the property was bought by Ms A and her partner at the time to live in when they split up they decided to keep the property and let it out so they changed the mortgage over to a buy to let mortgage.

So if Ms A owns a property currently letted out with her ex partner (not married to him and never was) and wants to buy him out of the property would she be subject to paying stamp duty on the property for the 50% she didn’t own?

A follow on question from that if she wants to add her now husband onto the property would they be subject to pay stamp duty? If so would it only be for the 50% she wants to transfer to her husband or on the full value of the property?

Thank you
C
