Yes, our fruitcake council have decided to proceed with HMO licensing in May of this year.
Despite the cancellation of council/landlord meetings so that landlords who have little or no experience of HMO licensing could get advice. Despite the fact that the council can no longer send a council employee to visit your property in advance of the licensing to advise you on your properties criteria (you have to pay nearly £200 for this). Despite you cannot get any trades in to complete certification which may now be required for HMO licensing. Despite the council no longer being able to provide the services and inspection they are supposed to do and are necessary to justify the cost of licensing to landlords and enable them to comply.
Coventry have ignored direct government advice.

I believe the RLA have corresponded to Coventry City Council. I do not anticipate any positive outcome - but one lives in hope.

Any other Coventry landlords out there who are equally affected and p*d off ?
