Dear Sir

I have a tenant with an old tenancy (pre 1 June 2019) which terminated on 26 May 2020.

With the AST there is a clause which states that the tenant will be recharged the Check-out fee.

My understanding is that as the tenancy ended on 26 May 2020, the tenant can be charged the check-out fee.

The tenant feels as the payment is being made after 1 June 2020, the check-out cannot be charged to the tenant.

The amount is not large, £125, so it is more about getting the law correct.

Am I correct in re-charging the tenant?
