At the start of a new AST / renewal, can I email all the relevant tenancy documents to the tenant as opposed to providing it to them in paper form?

I'm looking to have the tenant(s) sign a physically copy of all the paperwork (AST, DPC, Inventory etc...) and then for it for to be scanned and emailed to them with a confirmation from the tenant that they have received it. Are there any pitfalls I need to be aware of?

I appreciate that Notices will still be sent in paper form.
