We had tenants move into one of our properties on 16th September. Due to covid restrictions our electrician was not able to the EICR report. We informed the tenant our electrician would be with them on 8th February and they did not want our electrician to to the check. We informed them that it was urgent and as long as we had their electricians details we would be happy to go with their electrician and pay for the report. Their electrician did the EICR on 15th Feb with no prior arrangement by us. Due to there being a fault with the hob he isolated the hob and we supplied them with a portable one. Since then we have tried to get the works done however the tenant has sent an email informing us of the regulations, asking why it was not done and asking for compensation. How do we respond, we understand that it was not done prior to them moving in and got it done as soon as we were able to.
