I booked and appointment (through Openrent) for an Electrical Installation Report (EICR) by 4site Electrical in Biggleswade.
The electrician failed to turn up for the appointment but came the following morning.
I received the report listing 8 observations/recommendations; 7 of C2 and 1 of C3.
There was a quotation to replace the fuse box, the bathroom extractor fan and the kitchen lights (C3).
I emailed them to question the bathroom extrator fan as I was sure it met the criteria. They immediately came back to say that was an error and resubmitted the quote minus the fan (and %C2£234) which aroused my suspicions.

The report itself doesn't give any specific details, I have shown it to an electrician who said he can't quote me because it dosen't say what needs doing.
I have emailed 4site Electrical 4 times now to ask why they're quoting me for a C3 which doesn't have to be done but not for C2 items which (accoring to the report) do and to request a report which states exactly what needs doing, in which room and why, I've had no response
.

  1. of the recommendations refer to inspection schedule 6 of their report. Section 6 is "Location(s) containing a bath or shower" I only have an extractor fan, a light and the pull switch for the light so how can there be 6 items?

I have also noticed they have dated the report 30th March 2021 which was the date of the failed appointment. i wonder, did they write the report in advance of the visit?

I have raised a complaint with Openrent but I'll still waiting for them to come back to me.

Your guidance says that if an unsatisfactory report is provided I need to work the rectify that and produce evidence that the work to bring it up to the required standard has been completed by a qualified person. How can I do this if the report doesn't provide infomation on exactly what needs doing?
I have got an electrician comming on 15th April. Does he have to do another EICR or will it be sufficient to confirm in writing what work he has done and that the electrics at the property now meets the required standard.

If you can offer me any other help and advice on this matter I'd really appreciate it.
