Good evening

I know this has been posted before. I was wondering what are other landlords's opinion on pets. My previous tenant requested if she could have a cat which I politely refused. This did not seem to bother her and she ended up purchasing her own property. I now have a new tenant, a lovely young lady who moved in with her boyfriend, they were together 3 months and he moved out!!!

She is now on her own and has requested can she have a cat as she is on her own. My AST stipulates no pets. I live in north west and everybody is really dog/cat friendly, everybody has a dog. She works full time and does keep the place immaculate. But pets do create mess. I have to think of future, next tenant might be somebody who hates pets and would complain about cat hairs etc. I don't want to be unreasonable but properties are an investment.

Thank you
