Remove the handles and doors
First of all, you want to start by removing the handles from your cabinets.
Take a pencil and number each door as you go, so you avoid putting doors back in the wrong place. Once the door handles have all been removed, take a screwdriver to remove all the cabinet doors.
TOP TIP: Place the doors onto planks with screws to hold them steady whilst you paint.
Prepare the doors for painting
To ensure a professional finish, it is vital you prepare the cabinet doors to be painted. To do this, apply a sponge with sugar soap to the door to remove any grease and then lightly sandpaper the door. Then, take a dust cloth and give the door a once over.
Time to start painting
Now the door has been prepared, it is time for the fun part. Once you have stirred your paint, it is recommended to start painting any details on the door first. When using a paint roller to apply the paint, make sure you apply even pressure to ensure a smooth looking finish.
Once the doors have been painted, make sure you leave them to dry for at least 12 hours before you apply a recoat. And there you have it! A simple yet highly effective way to improve the appearance of a kitchen!
