National Residential Landlords Association

Welsh landlords - have your say on Rent Smart Wales

Landlords are being reminded this is their last chance to fill in the NRLA’s survey on Rent Smart Wales.

The NRLA is calling for more scrutiny on Rent Smart Wales and is surveying members with properties in Wales to find out more about what they think.

Questions focus on how effectively Rent Smart Wales is operating, how successfully it is at communicating with landlords, whether it is providing value for money and to what extent its work is improving standards in the Private Rented Sector (PRS).

We are also keen to hear about the experiences of agents who have been audited by Rent Smart Wales.

The short questionnaire should only take around two minutes to fill in and any information provided will be used to inform our campaigns work in Wales.

Rent Smart Wales was introduced by the Welsh Government through the Housing (Wales) Act 2014. The body went live in November 2015 and gave landlords and agents one year to comply before enforcement activity began.

However, Rent Smart Wales has faced criticism for bureaucratic compliance rather than improving standards in the PRS and eliminating criminal landlords.

The survey will close on Monday 1st November. To take part click here.
