Objectives

  • To understand the key principles of the Renting Homes Wales Act 2016

  • To establish the changes introduced for PRS landlords under the Renting Homes Wales Act 2016

  • Explore ways to ensure compliance of the act for PRS landlords and agents

Background

Renting Homes Wales has now been in force for over a year and whilst landlords now have a much better understanding of the legislation, we still see some uncertainty around written terms. This workshop is aimed at providing landlords in Wales with a comprehensive understanding of written terms in occupation contracts, we will cover the fundamentals of written terms, templates for drafting agreements, and exploring different categories of written terms.

By the end of this workshop, landlords will have a solid understanding of written terms, where to access useful templates, and insights into the various categories of written terms in their Occupation Contracts. This knowledge will empower landlords to create clear and comprehensive agreements that ensure a positive renting experience for both parties.

Join us for an engaging session focused on increasing confidence in handling written terms for Occupation Contracts in Wales.

Attendance of this workshop will provide 2 CPD points which can be used with your NRLA Accreditation. NRLA Accreditation recognises landlords who have agreed to maintain professional standards in the management and maintenance of their rented property and deal fairly and professionally with their tenants. Accredited members demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of their responsibilities and obligations and strive to maintain, increase, and improve their knowledge of the market through training and development. CPD points are awarded for all activities which improve those attributes and are a requisite of membership of the NRLA Accreditation Scheme.
