Fire safety is one of your key responsibilities as a landlord - with the NRLA's Fire Safety for Landlords course offering a comprehensive overview of the extensive regulations around this, as well as ways to manage risk to keep your tenants safe.
Legislation around fire safety is complex, with different buildings and property types being subject to different rules.
This course will give you a complete guide to the relevant fire safety legislation for your lets, and gives you the practical skills you need to manage fire risk effectively, whether renting out single lets, HMOs or blocks. It is also suitable for all letting agents and property managers.
This course will give you:
- An understanding of Fire Safety, as it relates to the different building and property types and which pieces of legislation apply to each
- Everything you need to know about fire risk assessment requirements
- Information about emergency plans and evacuation strategies
- Practical tips on fire safety and with reference to the LACORS fire safety guide
- An understanding of when and how Building Regulations PART B apply to your properties
It also runs through your legal obligations with regards to:
- The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Management of Houses in Multiple Occupation in England
- The Smoke and Carbon Monoxide alarm Regulations 2006
- The Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988, amended 1989 and 1993
- Building Regulations Part B
- The Housing Act 2004

The course costs £159 for members and £204 for non-members and completion will earn you 5 CPD points.
