In pictures: First Wales NRLA on Tour event a success

More than one hundred landlords attended the inaugural NRLA on Tour event in Wales, which took place at Cardiff City Stadium this month.

NRLA South Wales representative Gill Owens and Operations Manager Steven Bletsoe hosted an impressive line-up of speakers, including Welsh Government Minister Julie James MS, who presented on pressing matters concerning the private rented sector.

The event got underway with Julie James MS, the Welsh Government Minister for Climate Change, Housing and Regeneration, addressing the full room of landlords via live video link. The Minister spoke about the current rental landscape and also the pressures on the Welsh private rented sector.

Then, NRLA CEO Ben Beadle delivered a detailed presentation on NRLA Wales campaigning. Ben also outlined the support and resources available for NRLA members when it comes to understanding the Renting Homes (Wales) Act.

A lively Welsh legislative panel discussion then followed, which included expert contributions from Douglas Haig, NRLA Non-Executive Director for Wales, Lucinda Wolf, Senior Solicitor at Kearns Solicitors, Steffan Evans, Head of Policy (Poverty) at the Bevan Foundation, and Cllr Lynda Thorne, Cabinet Member for Housing & Communities at Cardiff City Council.

Landlords in the room also had the opportunity to see live demonstrations of the NRLA’s Portfolio property management tool, free and exclusive for NRLA members.

The event in Cardiff was supported by exhibitors including NRLA partners TradepointUK, Total Landlord Insurance, and also NRLA recognised suppliers No Letting Go.
